Noreen Andrews of Buffalo, NY would like to leave this tribute to her long-time friend:
We met in approximately 1970 when we were cooks together at Camp Agape while our children were campers. We remained friends throughout the years and became traveling companions after the passing of our husbands. In about 1992, when Rita moved from Nashville to Washington state, I helped drive her car across the country. We took about a month and made it into a sight-seeing trip. Four years later, when Sally's family moved to Hawaii, I went back to Washington, and Rita and I made a return sight-seeing trip back to Nashville. In the interim, Rita went with me and a group from Milwaukee, WI to the Holy Lands. Through all these adventures, we became fast friends. Travelling with Rita was always interesting. She did the packing, and I did most of the driving. In the days before everybody carried a water bottle, Rita carried one. Our stops in travelling revolved around replenishing Rita's water bottle and emptying Rita. Spending so much time together, we had many, many interesting conversations together. I travelled to Nashville many times to visit her, and she came to Buffalo regularly to visit her brother so we could reconnect then, too. I surely miss her.
