Though I am not a professional organist, my wife is. In May she travelled out of town on a weekend with a choir she belongs to, and I was privileged to sub for her for portions of the services. As I drove to church, I was thinking of Bob and how he would be with me in spirit as I played. It went well, and I felt encouraged and supported by his memory. He was truly one of the best teachers and friends I have had in my entire life. Bob, you are missed.

Bob, I can't believe it has been a whole year since you left us. Your warmth, kindness and good humor I will treasure forever. I had the privilege of working with Bob at Pasadena Presbyterian Church as a volunteer for several years which proved to be the highlights of my life. I count myself as among those whose lives he touched so deeply and will never forget him.

Through Robert Prichard's teaching and his performing he touched the hearts and souls of countless individuals including me. I worked with him with selling and installing numerous Schlicker Organs during a time of church growth in Southern California. When they were finished he often would perform a recital that would demonstrate the organ through his consummate talent at the instrument.

I was privileged to study with Bob for two years in the early 1960's. I remember his dry sense of humour fondly. I remember this: He took me and another student out to lunch. During the meal I noticed the background music and commented, "There's an organ." Without skipping a beat, Bob replied, "No, it's an electronic tone simulator!" Bob was a PIPE organist, through and through!

I took private piano lessons from Bob at Long Beach City College. I don't think that he knew it at the time, but he influenced the direction that I took in music. It was a privilege to learn theory and piano from him. His music and influence lives on through all of his students and the people he directed in choirs. What a great life he lived. He will be missed.

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Bob, happy birthday to you! I loved being with you because you were so loving, kind, and I loved your laugh! I also loved singing in the choir at church when you were directing it and I loved listening to you as you played the organ. I only wish I had more time with you and Bonnie as you two were very close to my heart!

I did not know of his passing yet he & wife Bonnie left such an imprint on my life. I am a neighbor (1250 S. Euclid) and we often spoke over the fence. I remember the Dalmatian and the children playing in the backyard. I will always remember. To the family, if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. This place is emptier without him...much love, Carolyn

Bob came along at a low point in my life and turned it around with his warmth and good humor and by drawing me into the life and activities of the church and out of myself. For this I will be forever grateful. You are sorely missed, Bob.

I was a student of his at PPC during the mid 70's. Bob did a terrific job in the absence of the sanctuary organ from 1971 to 1979 and a barely playable chapel instrument. Bob was always optimistic about the possibilities for the future, both at PPC and elsewhere.
