Rose Marie Decoteau Phillips, age 77, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 4:36pm. Rose was born in Red-Wing Minnesota on October 12, 1941 to Ella May Smith and Marvin Alexander (Gallagher). She was 1 of 7 siblings including Jim, Mary, Jerry, Ray, Dorothy and Vicki. She married Albert Decoteau on October 13, 1955 in Stevenson Washington, whom she had 5 children with; Alvin, Alberta, Ella Margret, Joseph and Ruby. Rose spent most of her young life raising kids and supporting her husband Albert’s career. When Albert fell sick he asked his lifelong friend Mardell to be there for Rose and take care of her family. Mardell and Rose eventually fell in love and were married on August 15, 1975, inwhich they had 3 more children; Dusty, Carlena and Mardell. Rose continued to raise children and now grandchildren, as Mardell worked as a roofer. Rose is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jerry. Her Husbands Albert and Mardell and her sons Alvin and Joseph, whom she loved deeply. Rose is survived by 6 children, Alberta, Ella Margaret, Ruby, Dusty, Carlena and Mardell. Rose has twenty-Seven (27) Grandchildren; and LOTS of Great Grandchildren and (Great-Great Grandchildren). Many that describe Rose do so by saying, “she was not one to mince her words”; and she has taken care of everyone. Rose was a loving Mom, Grandma, Memaw and Mom Rose to all that knew her often giving a home to 100’s of people that needed it. To the others you would often find her outside drinking coffee and smoking. We will miss her every day.
