I first met Ruth and her wonderful family almost 50 years ago when I lived next door with another young man. I'll never forget how this woman I had never seen called out from her window, "I'm sending dinner over to you. You can go down and get it." It was the first of many lovely meals, and conversations with Ruth, William and the rest of the family on Chestnut Street in Newark. Ruth and her family are family to us and our children and we are so grateful for being able to visit Ruth and her family many times since.

Miss Ruth was a dear friend to us, especially Carrie McClure and we thank God for having her in our lives. Please know that God is with you always.

God blessed me with the greatest grandmother anyone could ever ask for. I am thankful for all the love you gave me all of my life and I will forever carry you in my heart. I know that we will see each other again! Rest in peace precious grandmother - your work here has been done.
