It's hard to believe it's been a year since Papa left us. Some days, I forget he's gone. I have a good day at work and I think "let me call Papa and talk to him. He will be so proud." And then I remember. I talk to him every day but I'm really missing the responses. Even if they were self-esteem boosters (my cousins know what I'm talking about). Thinking of him brings a tear but also a smile, because we mostly reminisce about the fun we had with him and his quirks or funny quotes. I know he's with my Meme and the rest of the family in heaven dancing away and playing cards and I know one day we will meet again. I love and miss you, Papa

Time passes quickly can't believe it's been one year without him in our lives. He is truly missed

Just after Midnight this morning...I said Good-Bye to the first Man I ever Loved...My Dad. He was the strongest man to lean upon, who taught me so much though my Life. We were truly Blessed to have him so long, and I will miss him and My Mom forever. Godspeed Dad, Rest Peacefully

While some may joke they were the favorite the truth is he always made you feel special and that you were his favorite. He would have done anything for you, all you had to was ask and give him respect. He didnt have much but what he had was wisdom and love. While he may of been difficult at times he would do it cause he loved you and wanted you to learn how to handle it. He was a protector of the girls in the family, while the boys he toughened up but his heart would melt for... the great grand daughters, they can never do wrong. Honestly i think ALL the great grand kids were his true favorite. He taught me love as he stood by his wife of 62 years and cared for her when she was sick, he taught me street smarts as he only went to 8th grade and then the school of hard knocks, he taught me self esteem- those that knew him know what i am talking about, he taught me how to laugh and not be so serious, he taught me how to drive ok maybe how not to-who ever came up with those electric carts oh boy, but most of all he taught me about family. His was the world to him, all because 2 people fell in love they had 5 children, 12 grand children and 17 great grandkids. Today is one year since he went to be with his wife, son, grandson and numerous other family and friends. We all knew him in different ways and have our own special stories and moments, i am sure we are comforted that he is a better place it doesnt take the emptiness from our hearts today. He was the patriarch of this family and the one we could pick on. But we have each other and our memories to have him live on and not be forgotten.

Miss you big papa
