The shock of Segun's death is a hard reminder of mortality but also brings out the lesson of his well lived life, that to leave this place a bit better than you found it is perhaps the greatest epitaph.

‘If I could sum Segun up in one word, it would be grace. He was incredibly thoughtful, helpful, unstinting in the amount of time he rendered . He had a deep and insightful
appreciation of the calmness as a colleague. In all the years I knew Segun,he was full of life, ready to help and always asked how I was doing. I will miss him.

There's really so much to admire about you Segun, apart from being a truly talented tutor you were always really cheerful and happy.

I don't know what comes after this, but I wish that you rest peacefully knowing that even though  young, you left a lasting legacy and passion in our hearts.

When I heard the news, it was unclear to me:
What, whom, when, where?
I just didn't understand any of it
I kept asking "Why, why, why?"
But got no response

Those dreams of the young lad,
What happens to them?
Those people he loved,
What becomes of them?

You are greatly missed Segun.
Your short 26 years have been of impact
You have shared more love and joy than some octogenarians ever did
Your love remains in our hearts

Rest in peace brother!

Segun, you were a wonderful human being. Your selflessness, your passion, your drive was like no other. You always put others first even when it wasn’t convenient. You were full of life, optimistic and ever so jovial. I don’t think I ever saw you angry or upset, and that’s because you had such a huge heart.

Your journey was short but impactful. Your light will continue to shine bright in our hearts and you will NEVER be forgotten.

We love you, and may God grant your soul everlasting rest. ❤️

Rest on Segun Afolabi

Oluwasegun,
The Godlover
The investment banker
The entrepreneur
The smart pants
The teacher
The baby lover
The romantic
The gentleman
The friend and confidant
The kindhearted one
The ambitious one
The calm one
The smiling one

You were all of the above and even much more. I admired your tenacity, and it pushed me to want to do better. You hardly got angry, you were patient. You always went out of your way for others. You were a beautiful soul. I couldn't wait for the entire world to witness your greatness, but we have been robbed off it.
I am however greatful that though you lived a short life, it was impactful. While your exit was and will always be a painful one, we rejoice knowing we shall meet at our Father's feet.

Till then,
Rest well Oluwasegun ❤

This is a sad one to behold. It feels so sad to say good bye to you this way.
The memories and impact you left behind will always remain dear to our hearts.
Your beautiful heart touched me and I feel so sad to say bye.
Continue to rest in the bossom of the Lord. God knows best and may God grant your family and your friends the fortitude to bear this great loss.

I still can’t bring myself to say “Rest In Peace”...because I still can’t accept that it was your time to go to rest.

So much potential!! So much value!!! So much vigour ...
I always imagined you rising to become a Federal Minister or something of national relevance...You were gonna shake the world bro
Nigeria has missed out, the world has missed out...and we all miss you...

Your passing echoes the words “like watching a beautiful sunset, but at noon”...all I can think is “gone too soon”

But you knew Christ, and thus you will live forever ...See you at The Lord’s feet bro #NeverDieGang

Farewell...my NESA President, my boss, my bro
Rest well Segun❤️

Four weekends of Ms. PowerPoint classes. That's how long I knew Segun for, yet I feel as though I knew him longer.

I never had a one on one conversation with him but I respect him a lot. A great and lively teacher. I had little/no interest in MS Powerpoint but when he started teaching us, I just had no choice than to learn it because he made me develop interest in it. Rest in peace Segun Afolabi. This world is really a wicked place. Everything in this life is vanity upon vanity.

You were a phenomenal person. Very kind and you always wore a smile on your face. I can’t start to talk about how intelligent you were. If I didn’t come across you, graduating from school would have been harder than it was for me. I am so sad knowing that you are gone, but I am encouraged that I will see you again in the resurrection, because you knew the Lord. Rest well brother, till we meet again

*Heaven was needing a hero; Someone just like you.*

The angels looked down from heaven one night.
They searched for miles afar,
And deep within the distance
They could see a shining star.

They knew that very instant
That the star was theirs to gain,
So they took you up to heaven,
Forever to remain.

Look down on us from heaven.
Keep us free from hurt and pain.
You'll always be within my heart
Until we meet again.

Segun Afolabi did no wrong back in school. He was the president of @Nesa_CU and it was a privilege to have worked with him. He also helped me out a lot in my economics classes.

Rest well Segun! ❤️ You showed so much love in your short time on this earth.

Life is a continuum
Not to be pursued nor to be worshipped
Its all in phases
With phases with no meanings

It comes to an end quick
For the quite and the just
Life's not free
Its price is in our tears and laughter
Life is a continuum
for all to live on

The roses of memories
and the velvet of pains
imprisoned our hearts
after the sound of your breath
We hope we can do everything
To roll the hours past
The minutes of friendship
And the seconds of bond

What have we done to deserve life
What have you done to lose it
Everything runs in cycle
Daily we survive the battle
Life's great only when we live it!

Rest in peace dear friend
Live on in our hearts
and the marks of our soul

Life is a continuum!

Rest well Segun! ❤️
