Halloween

October 31, 2021
Dad always enjoyed giving out candy and seeing the costumes all the kids were wearing, and dressed up himself a lot.  This was him with "Elvis" Michael in the backyard, from 2006.

Sympathy from the Boyer family, past and present

May 12, 2021
The Boyer family would like to send our sympathies, thoughts and prayers to all of Swede's family and friends.  I'm sure that Swede is having a grand reunion with my father (Bruce), mother (Marge), my grandparents, Aunt Kay, Uncle Barry and Uncle Brian.  Swede was so much more than an employee, he was a friend that we considered family.  Almost every Memorial Day for the past 20 years, Swede would meet us at the cemetery and than come to our home for a cookout.  If not, he always left a vase of flowers at the Boyer family plot.  I called Swede in the beginning of the pandemic to make sure he was o.k. and to see if he needed any help; he said that Gary and his wife were taking good care of him; that was the last I talked to him.  Lately, there is one memory of Swede that I keep thinking about; in 1976 or 1977 on my way to work, I was pulled over by the police for speeding and taken to jail.  I made my one call to my dad and expected he would be coming to bail me out.  I was surprised to see Swede when I emerged.  Swede was my dad's left-hand-man!  We will miss him.

I was Sperling’s daughter-in-law for the past 19 years. When he became ill, I helped him maintain the yard that he loved. He would sit on the patio and watch the rabbits or birds and tell me lots of stories about his life.My son Michael would also come to visit and help mow the grass, giving his “Papa” a hug before leaving. Sperling would tell me stories of his childhood, military duty, and the many places he had traveled to. He would tease me about my Nebraska football team and I his Minnesota Vikings and he was there for every Thanksgiving dinner Superbowl gathering at my house. He always told me how much he enjoyed my cooking and I will miss him dearly. I know that he is now at peace and that he will be sorely missed by all the friends and family that had the pleasure and privilege of knowing him. …Janet Pommerville

He enjoyed family, and celebrating life.  This was in his back yard in Arvada, and everybody enjoyed themselves.
