Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you so very much for your kind words, and the tremendous support you showed us during this truly difficult time.  Your support greatly eased the pain of loosing our mother's life partner/husband, and the loss of our father.

Please continue to hold us in your prayers.

Thankfully yours,

The Baileys

Tribute from Ann Horne Hayles

February 24, 2021
I called him Papa.  He gave me permission to, since he informally adopted me as his tenth daughter. This phenomenal man was a man of God; a lover of people, dominoes and fellowship.

I believe that family isn’t always blood, but the people in your life who unconditionally accept you as you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you, no matter what. That was my Papa.

Over the years, we would sit for hours and play dominoes, which was one of his favourite past times.   He was always excited whenever I visited him and during those moments, we would sit and reminisce on beautiful times.  On my many visits, Papa took immense pride in sharing his words of wisdom on not just life, but good living and the importance of family and nurturing children so that they can be good versions of themselves.

After each visit, I would call him to check in and as soon as the conversation started, he would ask – “when are you going to visit me again, my daughter?”

Papa’s illness did not cause any change to his kind spirit, which was fueled by peace, love and happiness.  Instead he was drawn closer to us and even though he did not say so, I knew that he was very much consoled by the fact that his legacy will live on through us - - all of us.    This is consistent with one of my favourite quotes

“A life that touches others goes on forever”. (Unknown)

So as I sadly say goodbye to the physical being of Papa, I smile through tears but consoled in peace that forever treasured and etched in my heart are the lessons learnt from this exemplar, nicely wrapped in our beautiful memories.

Sleep in in peace Papa. You walked well…

Your daughter,
Ann Horne Hayles (aka Bailey).

Tribute from Ian Hayles

If a man is to be measured for greatness and judged by reference of character while on earth, then Stanley Bailey, Papa, aka Mass Stanley would have distinguished himself in both categories.  Papa mastered the strength of greatness and the character of a man, by living a life that was firmly based in God, loyalty to family and his country.

For the times I visited Mama and Papa I have always found Papa to be humble and quiet. He was a man of few words with a gentle smile, confident in knowing that he sits atop the Bailey clan, with eight girls and one boy, and of course Queen Mama.

The solid foundation that Papa built taught us all some valuable lessons about life, such as - never give up; value God and faith in the pursuit of happiness; build a family based on principles of hard work, discipline; and optimize your involvement in the community.

To Mama and the Bailey family, be in peace knowing that Papa did well. For generations now and after, the name Stanley Bailey will never die.  It will always live on.   Our prayers are with you now and forever.

Papa, walk good with God.  We live with mercy and we transition with God's grace. Sleep well Papa; you did your best.

Ian Hayles.

My dear Shirnett and family, mere words cannot offer adequate comfort to you during these sad times.  Over the past two years or so you have shared how strong and resilient your father was in spite of his illness.   Please take comfort in knowing that he lived well, and enjoyed the love of his family.  Your many trips back home to be with him kept him going, and I am confident that he left this physical world knowing that his memory will live on in your hearts forever.
Stay Strong,
Hon, Christopher Tufton, Minister of Health and Wellness

Stanley Nathaniel Bailey, Stout, Mass Stanley or Teteh as known by his many friends and family, was a giant of a man in spirit and confidence.
Born in Clarendon in 1936 he moved to Hopewell, Manchester as a young man where he met and married his wife Nellie Webb, his wife of 58 years.
A father of eight girls and one boy, Mr. Bailey was a father figure and mentor to many other children during his lifetime. Stanley loved his children more than life itself. He was a protector and champion to his girls, and a great example to his one son Stanley Albert Bailey.
While he was not a formally educated man, Mr. Bailey ensured that all of his children had an opportunity to pursue whatever educational passion they desired. His children all made him proud with their many and varied professional and life achievements.
He was a symbol of strength and harmony in the community of Hopewell.  Mr. Bailey and his friends were instrumental in bringing water to the community of Hopewell many years ago. He was also instrumental in building the roads leading to Hopewell and bringing electricity to the community of Hopewell.
He was a true community leader who considered the needs of others above his own.
To Mrs. Nellie Bailey, Shirnett Bailey, and the rest of the family I offer my deepest condolence and prayers.  Remember Psalm 34: verse 18. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
In Empathy,
Hon. Audley Shaw, MP for North East Manchester and Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce.

A long and lasting love
We share for many reasons
A special bond
That goes beyond the changing of the seasons
A long and lasting love
A long and lasting love
Someone I can care for
Someone to be there for the rest of my life
A long and lasting love

I never thought that I would meet someone so beautiful
I never thought I'd see a love like this........
A long and lasting love for 59 years and beyond the grave.

Yours Always,

Bibisy

Your Love Will Forever Burn In Our Hearts

February 12, 2021
Like a candle burning bright, love is glowing in your eyes
A flame to light our way that burns brighter everyday
But now I have you
Nobody loves me like you do

Like a leaf upon the wind, I could find no place to land
I dreamed the hours away, and wondered everyday
"Do dreams come true?"
And nobody loves me like you do

What if I'd never met you? Where would I be right now?
Funny how life just falls in place somehow
You've touched my heart in places that I never even knew
'Cause nobody loves me like you do

I was words without a tune, I was a song still unsung
A poem with no rhyme, a dancer out of time
But now there's you
Baby, nobody loves me like you do

What if I'd never met you? Where would I be right now?
Funny how life just falls in place somehow
You've touched my heart in places that I never even knew
Nobody loves me (nobody loves me!)
Nobody loves me (nobody loves me like you do)
Nobody loves me like you do
Nobody loves me like you do

It's amazing to me
How cruel love can be
To someone who has been through it all
Just to fall
Into the darkened sea
That always seems to be.
Fly free as a morning bird
Just to be heard
By that one person who
Never knew.
To spend your last wish
To soar into the abyss
For that someone to hear the unspoken words
Of the morning birds.
No human understands
Until it lands
Close enough to the edge
To be pushed over the ledge,
So they listen to love's words
Or the talk of the birds.
To finally understand brings
The final wings
To soar above
To hear the words of love
And hear the unspoken words
Of the morning birds.
