I remember how weary you got just before you left us—a life of total dedication to your mom Jennie and then to your family. Nothing was more important to you than being the rock that gave the family security. I know that years are missing from our time together, but there wasn't one day that I didn't admire the exceptional man you were. Along with your rooted love of family came a guy who loved to be grumpy once in a while, delivered the best punch line for a joke, could fix anything, and embraced all the things that hard work had given him.
