I Thought of You Today

I thought of you with love today
but that is nothing new
I thought about you yesterday
and days before that too,
I think of you in silence...

I often speak your name
All I have are memories
and your picture in a frame
Your memory is my keepsake
with which I’ll never part
God has you in His keeping
I have you in my heart.

I miss you Mommy...

Rather than mourning the loss of someone who meant the world to me. today i celebrate having her in my life for 18 years.
Sylvia Miller, who i called my Nana, showed me many examples of Gods love. not a day went by when she didn’t call me on the phone to say I love you. even when i didn’t answer she left me a wonderful voicemail of her explaining why she called and that she was okay she just wanted to make sure i was okay. she reminded me everyday of how beautiful my sister and i are. while complimenting herself ofc and saying we get our beauty from her. and i agree. many times in the past i have thought about how empty i was going to feel losing her one day, losing the person who could cheer me up any second, the person who i could hangout with everyday and not get tired of.
Not a day goes by when i don’t think about her and what a huge positive impact she has had on my life and others. she was kind hearted to everyone and would compliment everyone she met. but overall knowing that she’s in glory rn and not in pain is the best part. i could selfishly say i want her back, but ik i will be seeing again one day, and i can not wait for that day.
Thank you for loving me Nana, i miss you so so much. thank you for being my angel in disguise. mwah

What a beautiful photo gallery tribute - great job Jada & Paris!
I always remember Aunt Sylvia (or Aunt Sylvie as I called her growing up) as the sassy aunt who wasn't afraid to speak her mind. Loved the reference to Denzel Washington - long before Denzel was on the scene, Auntie knew a good-looking man when she saw one, and didn't hesitate to point him out so that all us girls would recognize what a handsome man looks like! :) One of my fondest memories is when Auntie had to babysit all us Akron cousins. She took us to the movies to see Jason and the Argonauts, starring Todd Armstrong as Jason. Whenever Jason was on the screen, I heard Auntie say, "now that's a handsome man." To this day, I still enjoy watching that movie (I even have it recorded). Whenever I watch it, I think of my Aunt Sylvie and think, with a smile on my face, "yes Auntie, Jason is still a handsome man."

My sweet Auntie Sylvia. Some of my greatest memories in life was when my family moved from Akron to Rochester for a few years. I was five years old and got to meet for the first time the Kendricks who lived in New York. Aunt Sylvia had the best hugs, kisses, and jokes. Although you are missed here, I take joy in knowing I’ll see you again. Rest easy my baby.

“Miss Sylvia was the Cool Mom with the Mustang”...We lived across the street from Aunt Peeps on Elba Street from 1967-1977. Tracy came outside and sat on the steps one day when we were around 6 or 7 years old...we have been sisterfriends ever since! I am blessed with several Moms and Sylvia was one of them!

You will be truly missed...

Love, Hugs and Prayers of Comfort and Peace for Tracy, Earl, Jada and Paris, and for all of Sylvia’s family and friends.

“To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord.”

Rest In Heaven, Miss Sylvia
