“Memories of a life well lived”

January 6, 2021
  1. Mrs. Heath, affectionately called Ma Vie, lived a long, beautiful, respected and respectful life. My memories of her, takes me back to my childhood days - of the strong friendship both her and Mr. Heath shared with my grandparents - Florence and Alexander (Mice) Garrick. She was a consummate Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Friend, Homemaker - cooking the most delicious meals and baking the most mouth-watering pastries. Now you know where her children got their passion for cooking and baking from.

Ma Vie was elegant, caring, kind ( especially to the less fortunate) and had the most- infectious laugh ever - at times, a giggle or a chuckle - “her signature style”). However, she was also a no nonsense individual. She always had a baked treat, served along with a homemade beverage most of the time, to offer you, whenever you visited with her. From childhood days to my adult life, I loved to visit her, because as a “Sweet-tooth” person - I knew I would delighted by her treats. My late husband, after meeting her over 30 years ago and was treated to her delicious Christmas Cake and Pudding, immediately declared, “ as of now, Mrs. Heath must always bake my Birthday Cakes”. She did so with pleasure and religiously. If I didn’t call her by mid December, to place my order, she would call and say, “Judith, are you ordering Eddie’s cake” and I would say, “of course”. This went on every year up until about 10 years ago - when she was no longer able to do so.  Eddie “transitioned”, approximately one month after, her 90th Birthday Celebration, at which we were both guests.

Ma Vie, you will surely be missed. However, you have left behind an exemplary legacy for all your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, associates and friends to bask in and try to emulate.

I am happy and privileged to have been able to witness your beautiful farewell service, in this deadly COVID19 era, which prohibits large gatherings.

May your soul find eternal rest with the Lord, as you meet up with Pa Les, to catch up on, where you both left off. The inseparable bond and laughter will start all over again!

REST IN PEACE Ma Vie❤️
