Madam Victoria Oluyemi Abeke
Adewale was born on 4th August, 1937 to Late Pa. James Karounwi
Ajani and Late Madam Alice Morenike Ajani (Nee Bankole) in Eredo (Egbado - presently Yewa side
of Ogun State). Her father, from Agbole Olosi, Totoro, Abeokuta, Ogun State was
a very successful farmer and trader and hence his sojourn to Eredo where had
most of his children.
Mama moved to join her elder sister in Arigbajo, Ogun State at about the age of 10 to learn the art of trading of Ofada Rice all around Ifo. She later moved to Ebutte-Metta in Lagos at about age 14, after the death of her sister in Arigbajo to join her older cousin to expand her rice trading experience until her marriage to Late Pa. Peters Oludele Adewale at about age 20 and her marriage was blessed with many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mama had passion and wide experience in trading. She dealt in various forms of commodities such as rice, bread, provisions etc.
While mama had no formal education, she had a deep passion for education and had raised a lot of professionals such as accountants, engineers, administrators, medical practioners, successful business peoples and so on, who were and are highly placed locally and internationally.
Mama was a devoted Christian, a member of Deeper Life Bible Church. She was a lover of children. She was loved by many because of her intelligence, listening ears, good guidance as well as motherly advices.
