The day that I received the news that Mr. Willie had gone home to be with the Lord, I was truly lost for words, my heart melted because I lost a friend that day. Every morning when I got on the shuttle, he would call my name out and then asked how I was doing. We talked from the time I got on that shuttle until I got off. Whenever Mr. Willie knew I was getting on the road, he would ask, where you going and I would smile and say, “Ok tell me the best way to get there” and sure enough, he did. When Mr. Willie found out that I was from North Carolina, we had many conversations about the town I was from. He talked about his trips to the race track in N.C. while showing me pictures of his car. He also shared the times when he would go down to N.C. to visit family and friends, smiling as he spoke each word. His smile would light up his face whenever he talked about his family and things that he loved. My friend you will deeply be missed.
