I believe Alan may possibly have served beside my husband in Vietnam in Pleiku in 1967/1968, 1st 10th Cav. 4th Invantry Div. My husband is Dan Netherly, he spoke of Allen often and shared an incredible friendship with him, he said they watched each other's backs, he has several pictures of them together. He only knew Allen was from Alabama and always said he would like to locate him. Thanks to Google we think this may be the Allen he served with but was so disappointed to see his obituary. If this is wrong Allen, I apologize for this tribute, but if it is the right Allen my husband would like you to know what a genuinely good person Allen was and he was so proud to have served next to him. J

Allen was a friiend. He was my brother in law, who treated me like a sister. We had some days!!!!! and some nights too when we were young.. Your Friend Tommy Marbury misses you and wasn't able to attend the because he was ill.  It had to be hard on him for him not to be there. They were such good buddies! Allen willl be missed.

Al was a dear friend...we hate to say good-bye...he loved chocolate brownies, and peanut butter fudge..I will miss making it for him...he was always full of life...and he always said something nice about everyone.......good-bye my friend, until we meet again. Steve and Helen
