This was sooooo funny...we were in Wahsington DC...just as the 2003 Iraq war started...we found some fake cigarettes...with powder...so Cain was watching TC...smoking...only the smoke was powder....

Here we are...standing in the rain...after playing bocce...this was the only time we got wet playing bocce...this was Cain's last bocce event...he loved bocce...it was easy...and he was very good...he carried us at Area and State games....

I failed Cain...I was supposed to protect Cain...die for him if necessary...I missed so many signs he was sick...dying...I'm so sorry, Cain...I pray that my failures didn't cause you excess pain...

I wish Cain could have died in our arms...but...the last night he was alive...Sunday, March 6...I was watching television...he came and sat next to me...held his hand out... I knew what he wanted...I stroked hand...and...he fell asleep...that's how I imagine it would have been...me holdling his hand...and he would die...and..instead of Cain opening his eyes and seeing me...or mom...or Cara...he would see Jesus...

There was ALWAYS one tent Cain wanted to....needed to...stop by while at the Athletes Village at the State games....the beauty queen tent....here is the photo of Terrence and Thomas and the beauty queen...just like Cain, Terrence and Thomas were shy...until the moment came for the beauty queen put her arm around his shoulder....Cain would take his photo home....and later when he got home...he would go to his room and we would hear the sounds of Cain kissing his photo of him and beauty queen....

At the Marcus Circle of Friends. prom..the Marcus school nurse shared some stories about Cain...and that...as a result of Cain's sudden death...she had the Special Ed instructors trained in CPR and defib...

Here is the picture of Cain's friends at the Black Eye Pea in Arlingtion.  Cain's team won the gold medal...Cain loved to be with his friends....

Anne Marie Schlicter is the Award of Excellence winner from Marcus High School.

After receiving the award at the Marcus Circle of Friends Prom...Anne Marie shared a story about Cain...not at Marcus...but at the Highland Village Elem playground.  She recaledl taking her young son to the playground and finds Cain there with his wrestling belts...her son saw the belts and....magic happened...Cain and her son had something in common...and they shared wrestling stories/play until he left...

So many of the Cain stories are lost...until God decides to bring to His home and Cain's beaming smile.....

Here is the photo of Philip Humphries, the first recepient of the Award of Excellence from Cain's Foundation is Special Education.  Philip teaches at Flower Mound High School.

Cain would have loved Philip, as do Carter and Nick  who were Cain's friends...

They really needed his shooting...Cain was passionate about defense or team work...he was passionate about shooting...and he could shoot...

Of all the sports Cain played...he liked baskeball the best...he would be the half time entertainment at many of Cara's, select games...running from end to end making layups...or making  3-pointers...as a memorial to Cain...his Special Olympics Team created the Cain Sczepanski Memorial Hoopfest.

This happened so slowly...we were visiting California and Carolyn's family.  We needed some groceries for diner.  Some how Cain got is body is the cart and then started laughing...the kind of laugh where he could not stop...just looking at some one made him...and us laugh more...and more...he laugh so hard he would plead..."Stop....pwease...stop....hurt".

At the SOKOL event FW, there was a parade of the basketball team the Steve Fleming had participating.  Here is Cain with Shannon...I'm not sure if Shannon "got" Cain...Cain could bug Shannon...and Shannon tolerated  Cain's antics...

Cain would sit and meditate on the transformer outside our house.

Cain only liked certain rides at Six Flags or a street carnival...only those like the Scrambler or Tilt A Whirl..which spun him around and around...notice Cara's enthusiastic pose to the right of Cain...

Cain...loved to dance...especially with a crowd....note the reactions of Scott and  Patrick...and the girls to the left of Cain....they can't believe...he's that good or, they're in fright as to what he will do next....

Yes...there was a time Cain did 2 events at Area games....he would do the 50 meter dash and the softball throw...he was fast...but SOOOO mad if someone ran into his lane.....

Not sure what happened....but it's clear Cain has enraged Cara...and he doesn't care....

Not pretty...but this is how we got him to 24 years....

Cain died of a broken heart.  Here is the only attempt to fix it.  He was about 18 months old.  He had to get to 60 pounds before Dr. Pacifica in Birmingham, AL would attempt the operation.  It was hard to get him to 60 pounds because he was so sickly because of his digestive problems.

We thought that time was difficult...seeing that scar on his chest...seeing him with tubes and wires all over him...but then seeing him smile and laugh...then... March 7, 2011...

I miss him!!!!!

Cain LOVED to dress up from COF Prom...but once the dancing started...the jacket would come off...he needed to be flexible...
