I was shocked to hear of Dale's death. We are just learning of this sad news. Dale was a unique individual but one that everyone who knew him liked him instantly. He was a true gentleman...., kind, well mannered and full of respect for others. Dale will be missed by us in the Quality Life Association which he was an active member and was at many conferences especially those in Florida. He participated when asked to assist with conference duties willingly and without reservation. We will all miss his quiet reserved manner. Rest in peace my friend and continue those dance lessons in heaven!

My dear Dale, what can I say about you that hasn't been said? I once read on a student evaluation that "Dale is the man behind the curtain of Physics" ... I thought after I read that, how that sums up you and your personality! This world, this division has been blessed to know you and this world, this division will miss you! Rest in peace.

Dale was a kind, brilliant, and creative person who was always engaged with his students and colleagues. We will miss him very much.

Dale was a wonderful colleague. He helped all of us in the laboratory sciences, not only physics. He was so intelligent, and an incredibly hard worker. He was caring, patient and kind with all. We will feel his loss keenly.

What I will take away from working with and getting to know Dale is the value of kindness, patience and persistence. He was masterful with equipment and repairs because of these attributes, which are so often in short supply in this day and age. He was a wonderful resource for faculty and students alike and a valuable colleague to us all.

Dale never had a cross word to say about anyone. His sense of humor was subtle but infectious. He really enjoyed working with students. New lab equipment was not a challenge for him, it was an adventure. Dale loved the astronomy class and was eager to join viewing sessions. I will miss his gentle presence.

I may never again meet as kind a spirit as Dale's. Always willing to help, so smart, so humble. He was an inspiration to me and will be missed. May the good Lord bless and keep you Dale.......till we meet again.
