I was working a security job at a Verizon store, where I met Jean, doing cell phone business there. She mentioned that she owned a restaurant in Des Plaines, so being my home town, I asked her which one, she said The Choo Choo. Wow, I remembered that really well. Had eaten there with the toy train bringing the meals. I meant to stop in there to say hi and grab a meal, but my schedule with rotating shifts didn't synchronize with their hours. I just learned of her death recently and am shocked. She was so young and so nice! I am greatly saddened by this. Jean, may you rest in peace, and enjoy your heavenly Choo Choo for all eternity.

To Jean’s Family,
I am so incredibly sorry to hear about the loss of Jean. She was a big part of my kids growing up as we frequented the Choo Choo quite often. She was always so welcoming and my kids always loved going there to see Jean and Jamie. Hugs all around anytime she saw them. She will be so missed and I pray for your family. Jamie I’m thinking of you and wish there was a way to reach out. You and your mom really helped me through a hard time in my life and I wish I could do the same for you. May the modifies of her help you all forever and always.

Thinking of the great boss lady herself, dear Jeanie, today on her birthday. We used to say August is the best month because of our birthdays but honestly, no day can top hers. She truly taught me so much and brought many of the most important people into my life and I just want to say thank you! She gave her all into everything she did and touched so so many lives. I’ll never forget the last time I saw her. She was zooming past my parent’s house in her ChooChoo-mobile and slammed on the brakes when she saw me outside. She laughed at the few honks behind her as we hugged and quickly said a few words. That was just Jean. She was a legend and everyone knew her. We are missing her dearly and sending love to her family. Picked my neighbors flowers for you today Jean ❤️.

My heart was crushed when I heard of Jean’s passing. She never told me how sick she truly was. I believe she thought she would beat this horrible disease! She was a light in my life and had so many stories to share about her family and work which were both her saving grace. We would talk almost every month or so and always tried with the best intentions to get together. On occasion I would pop into the Choo Choo and hang with her as we were both so busy. We would always be laughing and sharing funny experiences that happened to us or others.
Your mom was a fantastic friend and I pray she is at peace resting with our Lord and watching over us all.
