A Poem About Martha White Warren

Martha White Warren was truly the picture of grace,
Even now I can see the serene and beautiful smile that always graced her face,
Precious memories of our friend will forever stand the test of time,
For Martha White Warren was, in so many ways, the very meaning of sublime.

People who didn’t know her may wonder what she was about,
But those of us who knew and loved her never had any doubt,                     That she was earnest, down-to-earth and daring and, and that little got under her skin,
And that she was accepting, and cool and unwavering, until the very end.

Martha always did speak softly, but you see, that was her way.
And it certainly never kept any of us from hearing whatever she had to say.
For her words were quietly bold; and her impact was boldly strong,        Our dear friend Martha’ll be missed, just as sure as the days are long.
Martha, I love you. I know you are at peace, and I pray that you will continue to make the universe better throughout eternity.

Martha was a great person and friend. While I knew and worked with Martha at P&G, I got to see her passion again for the work that I first met her doing at P&G (Diversity and Inclusion in New Orleans), when we reunited as Board members for VISIONS. Martha’s efforts and work for VISIONS will long be a legacy of who she was and what she stood for in life and beyond.

You will be missed. Your constant words of encouragement, smiles, hugs and great advice. No one uplifted others the way you did. I’ll always remember you and be grateful that our paths crossed.

I'm so sorry to hear about Martha. Although I did didn't know her like I knew you, I knew she was well respected at work. She had to be alright to put up with your crazy self. I thought ya'll made a good couple and missed you when you left Albany. I enjoyed looking at the pictures of her family and you still have that smile. My prayers are with you all.

Martha you were both my light and my fortress when I lost my son and I am forever indebted to you. May you rest well, and finish in heaven all of the amazing work you’d only just begun here on earth. You are missed. You are loved. You are light. I love you and I thank God for blessing my boys and I with knowing you.

Although we grew up in the same hometown and had common connections through P&G, I did not meet Martha until she joined us on the Board of Directors at VISIONS, Inc., culminating her lifelong passion working for equity and justice. Martha's exceptional ability to uplift others with compassionate questions and genuine attentiveness to their answers was evident from the moment she arrived and she has been a consistent source of joy and inspiration these last three years.

We know how much our work meant to you, Martha. We saw your love and commitment right to the very end and it brings us joy to have brought that joy to you. Your flame never dims, dear Martha, it merely moves to illuminate another realm. You will be dearly missed, always remembered and forever loved.

Martha - an amazing human being that deeply touched so many around the world especially in her passionate pursuit of diversity, equality and inclusion. A light of advocacy and caring mentorship that inspired me to be and do better. I am thankful to have known her. Thoughts and prayers to Joe and family.

Martha was a beacon of light that shone with such intensity that her impact would never be forgotten. I learned so much from Martha about relationships, especially through her work with PSP (People Supporting People). Not only did Martha coach and mentor, but lived out and modeled the principles she believed in.

I am blessed to have had Martha as a dear friend mentor, and neighbor. I will miss our conversations and the opportunity to just “drop by and check in.” Joe and Martha always made Bill and I “feel at home” and we look forward to our continued visits with Joe.

Your light now flickers within all whom you’ve impacted,

The world got a little dimmer when Martha left us, but the light in Heaven is now shining a whole lot brighter.

I feel blessed and honored to have known Martha, worked with her, been guided by her and most importantly been impacted by her. She was like no other.

Rest my friend.  Know that you have lived a full and wonderful life and were truly loved.

I miss Martha, my teacher, my amazing friend, my travel mate and my "have fun companion". I am forever grateful for our many teachable moments; the honest direct and caring way she helped me see and encouraged my action. Her warmth and love opened me to the world of hugs - best lesson ever! (She knew the gift that was.)
Joe, I love you and am so happy Martha had you in her life. She always talked about the joy you brought her. I wish you and your family peace.

What a beautiful spirit and magnetic presence! Martha touched so many lives because she had a genuine passion for people. She was a personal coach, colleague, advocate and most importantly, a dear friend. We miss her dearly and are cherishing the memories.

It was always a joy, for us, to hang out with Martha and Joe, especially on Sunday afternoons.

Joe - We want to encourage you and let you know that we love you and look forward to continued fellowship. Our condolences to you and the family.

John 14:1-3 NKJV...Let not your heart be troubled, believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

This is a beautiful tribute for a beautiful person. Martha loved her family and spoke of them often; especially the little ones on the way. My life was indeed made better by having Martha and Joe in it. Martha had made her peace with the Lord and accepted her fate. She did so much for so many and will be missed by all who knew her. Thanks Joe for taking such good care of my friend. May God bless all her family and give you a sense of peace knowing Martha is no longer in pain and is probably organizing several projects in heaven. Rest In Peace and love my friend.
