Miranda Baliki Tabi, fondly called Auntie Mimi, was born on March 22nd, 1974 in Ekona, South West Region, Cameroon. Mimi was the 3rd child to Mama Bokwe Cecilia Tabi and dad Robinson Mbanda Tabi (of Blessed memory).

From birth, Mimi brought such joy to her parents and siblings, with a beautiful signature smile which she maintained all through her life.

Education: Mimi studied mostly in the South West region of Cameroon, Central Africa. She attended Government Primary School Ekona in 1981, Government Secondary School Nyassoso, Government High School Muyuka and Government High School Limbe where she obtained her Ordinary Level Certificate (‘O’ Level) and Advanced Level Certificate ('A' Level) respectively. She continued to the University of Douala and later graduated with a degree in English Language.

Mimi by her jovial disposition made so many friends from her days when she was a student. These friends later became like family members to her. She remained very close with these friends for over the years. Her”joie de vivre” was so contagious that it created a positive impression to everyone she met.

Professional Life: Mimi worked in Spectrum Cable in Cameroon before immigrating to Holland in 2001. She later on moved to Canada where she continued her studies and graduated to practice as a Nurse. Auntie Mimi worked at the Perley Rideau Veterans’ Center and at Home Hospice Agency for several years. From these locations she made so many friends who later became family members. We thank her colleagues throughout the years for loving and being close to Mimi so unconditionally.

Personal Life: Mimi has lived in Ottawa-Canada since 2001 where she developed very strong roots with the community. She got married to her sweetheart Benjamin Ebokem (fondly called Uncle Ben) and had three kids; Johannes (13 years old), Marie (6 years old) and George (5 years old). Mimi is also survived by her dear mother, mama Cecilia, Auntie Joan of Ottawa, several beloved siblings, her loving in-laws, ‘moyos’ and a very large extended family of friends and colleagues.

Auntie Mimi was a member of several groups including the Vessel of Destiny prayer group (which essentially started in her living room in 2008) in Ottawa, Cameroon Njangui group, and several other groups. She remained very active in her Alma Mata and ex-student associations, and maintained strong relationship with old friends from Cameroon and Europe.

Auntie Mimi has been ill since 2017 and went into remission in 2018 when family members and friends joined her in celebrating thanksgiving in June 2018. She fought so valiantly all through her illness, had a lot of self confidence and assured family members and friends that she will be ok. Her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ grew by leaps and bounds throughout her years and it was ever more apparent during her illness. She remained strong and faithful, bowing to God’s will in all things. She passed on peacefully surrounded by family members and loved ones who stood by her with non-stop prayers for her recovery and for her to be pain free. Our Heavenly Father in His wisdom decided to call Mimi home on March 14th, 2019.

Our Wife, Daughter, Mother, Sister and Friend is now resting in the bossom of our Lord. We have prayed for a peaceful slumber and we trust God has granted her same.

Thank You…. We will like to thank Mimi’s family (both immediate and external). The out pouring of tears of love, support, concern and prayers was truly phenomenal. Thank you especially for how well you loved Mimi. Each and every person in her circle made a difference in her life, and for that we say thank you.
