In the early 1980’s, I met Patrick and Elizabeth, aka Mz Betti, while teaching in Saudi Arabia. Once they connected, they were always together. Although I never traveled with them, their stories and pictures of where they had been, what they had seen and done were told (and seen) with such detail that it felt as if I truly had been on the trip with them. Patrick’s laughter was frequent and infectious. At the many gatherings of expatriates, their wit, quick sense of humor and story telling abilities were sure to bring smiles to the diverse crowd of people. Anyone who learns to read n write in Arabic (as an adult no less) is impressive. He would nonchalantly mention ‘your Arabic saying is hanging upside down’, which always brought smiles. It’s no surprise to me that their love of travel continued, making lifelong friends everywhere they went. Patrick and Mz Betti, Thank You for giving me some great memories - with more to come, Allah be willing. بمشيئة الله ارقد بسلام
