Three years passed. Just like yesterday. Uhnnn.... May your gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace..Amen
March 31, 2021
I have known Yemi since 1975 when he joined my class from Mayflower Junior School.

Yemi was a stickler for details, kind, hardworking, generous and very warm personality who loved his Family dearly and never forgot his friends.

When he called me sometime in October 2019 that he would be home to mark the Final Burial Ceremonies for his Parents-In-law, little did I know that he was also preparing for his Exit! When I saw him at the Ceremony, it was evident that he was gravely ill but what was not evident then, was his determination to ensure that the Exit did not happen outside his homestead (“Ori Ade ki sun ita” i.e., a Royalty should never be buried outside the homestead).

Although his last few days were quite painful, yet he took it all stoically like a true Royalty that he was, brave and courageous till the very end.

May Almighty God continue to grant him eternal bliss and give his Family – Mama, Bola and the children, his siblings as well as all his loved ones, the solace to bear his loss through Jesus Christ our Lord Amen!

HE IS GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN!!!

I didn't know Mr.Yemi Sobowale for a long time , only through his wife, dear to me Bola . I met him few times though but from first meeting I felt great respect towards him , he had this aura..
He was noble man ,  great father and committed husband but also active member of society and his own community. Such a loss ... I would remember him dearly and I hope he would look after his family from above.

Mr. Yemi Sobowale, hmmm! How do i describe the most selfless person I know? How do i describe your brotherly love? How do I begin to recall the support and assistance you gave me whenever I needed it during my studies in WIT Waterford which made me called you my lecturer. You were such a caring, loving brother and a true friend. A family man to the core. Thank you for the beautiful memories of the great times we had with you and your family. Heaven gain a star the day you left. You will be forever missed.

Story Of A Man

March 22, 2021
Yemi Called me in 2018 when he was in Ogere.
“Mama Kunle I am in Ogere Looking for Shakiru”.
Shakiru was our Cousin - and he was disabled at birth with Paralysis of the Organs in the Body and he was abandoned by his Biological Mother but his Grandmother took it upon herself to care for him. After many years she passed on.
Since her demise nobody looked after Shakiru.
Yemi and myself always talked about Charity and the Love of God as my Father taught us- “Money is not everything but your Service to help Others is Valuable to God”.
Yemi took it upon himself to look For Shakiru. Everyone in the Village was Surprised that Shakiru has a big brother, he took him round the Town in his Car.
He Started taking care of Shakiru and his Sister Since then.
He Called and told me Mama Kunle -Every Year l will be Visiting Shakiru at Ogere God’s willing.
Yemi believed that everyone should remember the Poor within the Family, Community and help them instead of wasting resources on what is not valuable to humanity.
Yemi you have done your part in order to put a Smile on the face of the less privilege.
This Story is to invite all of us to Charitable Ventures in order to be able to spread love to others.
Yemi did what he loves to do, but now he’sno more.
The responsibility is now given unto me and you.

Sail out with us Lord

March 10, 2021
We must not stop here, however pleasant this neighborhood,
however beautiful these old building
we cannot remain here.
However sheltered this port, and however calm these waters
we must not anchor here.
However welcome the hospitality that surrounded us
we are permitted to receive it but a little.
Our little white-hull’dyacht
now speeds on really deep waters.
No more returning to these shores.
Sail out with us Lord,
sail out with us to that unknown region
where neither ground is for our feet
nor any path to follow,
nor map, nor guide, nor voice sounding,
nor touch of human hand.
Sail out to us Lord and guide us to the promised land.

You Never Said Goodbye

March 10, 2021
You never said i’m leaving, you never said goodbye.
You were gone before we knew it, and only God knew why.
A million times we think of you, many times we’ve cried.
If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died.
In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a place that no one could ever fill.
It breaks our heart to lose you, but you didn’t go alone
For part of us went with you, the day God took you home.

Reflection

March 10, 2021
We give them back to you Lord God
who first gave him to us;
And as you did not lose him in the giving
so we do not lose him in the return.
Not as the world gives do you give,
for what is your is ours also, for we belong to you.
Life is unending because love in undying
and the boundaries of life are but an horizon
and an horizon is but the limit of our vision.
Lift us up O God that we may see further.
Strengthen our faith that we may see beyond the horizon.
And while you prepare a place for Adeyemi, as you have promised,
prepare us also for that happy place
so that in our time we too may be with you.

The symbol yacht

March 10, 2021
There is asense of presence about a yacht. That was Adeyemi. He had a presence about him. It is a sea vessel, well able to move calmly and gently through the sea and can manage to stay afloat when the sea get rough. Adeyemi was a calm presence about the place and never got too ruffled when things got rough. A yacht is powered by the wind in it’s sails and these can adjust to capture the wind’s direction. Adeyemi had the ability to make many changes moving from various services and working with new colleagues. The rudder of the boat steers it in the intended direction. Adeyemi was always quite clear about what he wanted, what he was about and how much he was prepared to do in Depaul. The hull of the boat lies mostly below the water line, it helps keep the yacht balanced and also provides shelter for the sailor. To those who worked with Adeyemi he kept his personal life and work life separate. There was an awful lot about him that we didn’t know. We all saw the surface but not what gave him comfort, balance or strength. However, we knew he had many resources that kept him going on his voyage through life.

POEM - Don't Grieve For Me

February 25, 2021
Don't grieve for me, from pain I'm free

I'm following the path God has laid, you see.

I took his hand when I heard his call

I turned around and left it all.

I could not stay another day

To laugh, to love, to work or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way

I found the peace on a sunny day.

If my parting has left a void

Then fill it with remembered joys.

A family shared, a laugh, a kiss

Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life's been full, I've savored much,

Good family, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seem all too brief

Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee.

God wanted me now; From pain I'm free.

~ Family
