I still can't believe that you have left this world. My sorrow to this is beyond words. Days will pass and turn into years, but we will forever remember you with silent tears. The spirit you brought to the HK Linguistics Olympiad Team will be passed on. R.I.P.
Xuefeng, a beautiful name of a wonderful boy! Unwanted news took away the joy. Evil acts made no rejoice. Forgive? Forget? Is there a choice? Eulogy, we sent with sorrow. No way, no thought for tomorrow. Gone with the wind, there is no time to borrow….
In peace. I wish you rest in peace. No fear. May God set you free.
Prayers I sent to our Heavenly Father! Ease your pain and end your fear. Admit your sin His words are clear. Cry out to God His Kingdom is near! Eternal life He grants there is no more tears…
Life is so unfair. Why on earth such a kind soul like Xuefeng with bright future should pass away at such a young age. It is hard to find words to describe my sadness. Xuefeng, your kindness and generosity to the Hong Kong International Linguistics Olympiad team members will be forever remembered by their families. Rest in peace. IOL Kids will carry on with lives with you in their hearts.
I felt so sorry to send you a belated message to express my heartfelt thanks for your help during the past years. Your passing is a great loss to all of us. Hope you rest in peace. You will be missed by everyone who knew you.
We didn’t talk much during the summer but I didn’t think it would end like this. I’m absolutely devastated to lose such a bright minded mentor and friend. Rest in peace Eric, you were too young.
Your kind words brought smiles to the faces of your family and friends; your knowledge and helpfulness brought edification and understanding to classmates and students; your good nature was a ray of sunshine that will be long remembered by those who knew and loved you. Rest in peace. You are dearly missed.
We only met a couple of times but you struck me as an enthusiastic young man with so much promise. I imagine it was a life lived to the fullest. May you and your family rest in peace.
Xuefeng left this world with great hope and promise, thinking about completing his PhD on emotion and metaphor, anticipating an exciting and fruitful research visit to Europe (Groningen), and celebrating the publication of his most recent research* at LREC, the world’s leading conference on language resources and language technology. Without COVID-19 lockdown, he would have been sharing his exciting academic discussion at LREC, as well as his joy of travelling Marseille and Provence (probably with some friends from our lab and elsewhere). Let’s not remember Xuefeng as just another soul we lost among all tragedies in the year of COVID-19. Let’s remember his smiles and his always warm and helpful manner, like warming sunshine on the pure white snow peak.
