Uncle Charles, you have left us so suddenly. Words cannot express how we feel even though we know you are in good hands with our Lord in heaven and not to say with all your other 6 brothers probably frolicking around having fun wondering what took you so long. Your mom have her hands full again with all the boys "home". For us, your time here is too short. The joy you brought will forever linger in our minds.
I remember the fishing trips where our two families would go as mom is also an avid fisherwoman like you. To Tuaran we go, Pantai Dalit, walk out 1/4 mile to the headland, loaded with food for lunch, fishing rods, bait, you name, we have it. We would catch small, sometimes big fish and when we catch nothing, Uncle Charles would said "meow kung". Those were happy days.
Uncle Charles likes to go hunting and somehow mom would know to wait up for him. One night, I heard a honk, looked out the window and there is Uncle Charles and a friend. Crept downstairs and sat on the stairs, looked out the window and saw them pulling the skin off some animal. Hmmm... the next day, he brought everyone over and we all have "chicken soup". Somehow the meat is round cut in circles????........it was snake meat!!!! But we were too young to know and loved it especially Carol!!!! How can I forget.
Uncle Charles loves to hunt and we would enjoy the fruits of his labor, Wild boar, flying foxes, snakes but can't remember if there was a crocodile somewhere in this mix.
I remembered he brought all 12 of us to golf, 4 ladies (Carol, Fiona, Aunty Dora and myself). We tested his patience that day as we were all beginners except Aunty Dora as he wanted the ladies to tee off first to make sure we are left behind. But he will have it no other way even though we were so bad!! He would just teased us and smile. Uncle Francis was riding the cart with him and the boys were betting big bucks!!!! It was a lot of fun.
Uncle Charles, there are so many fond memories of you. Your unconditional love, kindness, generosity, loving nature and all that you gave us during your time here with us, we will forever cherish.
We love you and will miss you. You will be forever in our hearts. Till we all meet again someday.
