Mother’s Day has come and gone and it was so hard without mom here. I want to pick up the phone to call and I can’t. The waves of emotions are unbearable sometimes as it continues to sink in that she gone.

Mom found Steven Furtick and the Elevation Church online/YouTube and she would watch the sermons every morning, sometimes she would watch sermons several different times in her day and would tithe to the church on a regular basis. Mom was so touched when they sent her a letter to tell where her donations had helped others and she received her little calendar❤

This church, Pastor and guest speakers/singers, all touched her heart and meant so much to her that she would share them with the rest of us. ❤

Diane Shaw took so many kids and people into her home and her heart on a regular basis and often rescuing them, offering encouragement and a safe place to be. She also did the same for all kids of animals over the years as well. Diane Loved nature and being outdoors as much as possible and working in her yard & gardens.

So many of our lives were changed for the Better just knowing her or meeting her, growing up with her, talking to her and because she Prayed for Everyone all the time... For God to care for and Bless everyone she has ever met/known and for those she either had yet to meet or may never know.

There was Always enough food to feed whoever showed up, coffee was always able to be on and the door was open for visiting, game night, movie night, needing a shoulder to lean on or an ear to vent or even just a hug.

She had Standards and Morals that were Expected to be kept whether you lived under her roof or not.

Her Life

The life of Diane Shaw

April 21, 2020
Diane Shaw, 74, passed away at her home in Pueblo, CO on April 16, 2020. Diane was born in Brownsville, Texas on August 28, 1945 to parents Lewis and Crystal (Thomas) Shaw. She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis, mother, Crystal, sister, Sandra, brother, Ron, and two grandchildren, Tony and Sarah.

She is survived by her children Jewel (Dennis), Donna, Susie (Mike), Ed (Sonya), and Dawn, ten grand children, Michael, Devin, Crystal, Jadah, Virginia, Chris, Michaela, Samantha (Chris), Austin, James, and 2 great-grand children, James and Maverick.

Diane was raised in Durango, Colorado where she graduated in 1963.  She raised her family in Grand Junction, Colorado until she returned to Durango, Colorado to help her mother with her business.  She has lived in Pueblo for the past 20 years. She has maintained a positive attitude, and always took care of others. She was very generous and unselfish; but most of all she loved nature and watching her birds.

She put her trust and faith in God, and the promises in His word the Bible. The words of John 3:16 filled her with strength and gave her comfort; “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” She was confident in God’s promise of a resurrection. She also loved Psalms 23.
Psalm 23

A psalm of David.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
She will be missed by her family and friends.

She Always Helped People

April 24, 2020
Mom was Always trying to help people out, even after they had stolen from us/her. She would say that God was the Only one to pass judgement on others and we were put here to take care of each other and help one another out to the Best of our abilities, even if things were scarce in out home as well because God would make sure we were also provided for... And we were/are❤ Thank You God.❤

Memories from Jewel

April 24, 2020
I (Jewel) have a couple all time favorite memories of her mom: one was a Christmas where all our Christmas stuff had been stolen from out shed; afterwards we had 2 trees donated that we all made decorations for and promised to spend our money from grandpa and grandma on our mom. When she opened Ed's gift ( key chain with a gorilla making a face on it...) And we all were laughing because it said "I am not grumpy, I am just Constipated!"
Ed was so confused and asked what Constipated meant
We all couldn't stop laughing and when mom asked why that keychain if he didn't know what Constipated meant, Ed said it was because he liked the gorilla! We still laugh about that time together and remember the closeness we all shared.❤❤❤❤
The night just before mom became non-responsive at the house (2 nights before going to Heaven), mom called out for me (Jewel) so I sat next to the bed and asked what she needed. Mom asked me Matter-of-factly.... "How are we gonna get the laundry caught up?!". "By us doing it mom.. It will be taken care of mom" I told her. Then she told me I needed sleep and asked if I was gonna get sleep? I told her I would sleep while she slept or when it got to be night time. Then after she had been resting for about an hour she came to and asked if I was ok and I dawn and donna were up ( I promptly replied yes) and If I needed anything, would I Please let her know what she could do to help me?! ❤❤           I told her her helping me days were done, if they weren't then she needed to wave her magic wand and change things Pronto!!   Then I kissed her and told her we were all doing ok and we would be ok and help each other out, she had nothing more to worry about.... She kissed me and went back to sleep. That was the last words she spoke to me and she went peacefully a day and a half later (April 16th, 2020) in her sleep.

Donna's Favorite Memory of Mom

April 24, 2020
Donna's favorite memory of her mom is when mom was taking a bath and us kids were fighting and dad was at work (we lived on 24 Rd. In Grand JCT, CO)... She made us all come in and sit against the wall opposite of the tub and we were all in a "Time Out" and had to sit quietly untill she was done

The other one Donna and I (Jewel) agreed on was a night at home with us kids (donna and Jewel 17/18, Sue & Ed 9/10...toughly) and being silly before bed and some how the thought of mom  rollerskating came up and about her being too "OLD" to rollerskate (in her 30's lol); so she put one of our pair of skates and was rollerskating through the apartment in a 'negligee' and then someone knocked on the door and you see this lady flying threw the house (in a negligee and wearing rollerskates heading for her bedroom YELLING at us.. "Don't you DARE Open that door before I get in My ROOM!! We laughed so hard! Still Laughing!!
